Selectmen Announce New Police Chief

The New Durham Board of Selectmen officially announced Eric Millar as the incoming Police Chief at their Board Meeting on January 14, 2025, following a search that began immediately after the retirement of former Police Chief Shawn Bernier in late September 2024. Eric brings a wealth of law enforcement experience; as a community-oriented police officer, as a member of the Strafford County Sheriff’s Department, and most recently as a member of the Homeland Security Human Trafficking Taskforce. His leadership skills and experience will serve him well as he rebuilds the New Durham PD.

Town Clerk, Alicia Housel will swear-in Chief Millar on January 16th and he will assume his official duties shortly thereafter. The Town will schedule several events for residents to meet the new Chief over the next months. Please watch the News announcements on the Town Website for further details
